The Effective Solution to Protect Your Straw is At Kaya Plastic & Branda…

As a farmer, we need sturdy and weather-resistant straw covers to protect our straw from external factors. Adverse weather conditions can damage our straw and diminish its quality, adding an extra burden in terms of both time and cost.

WHAT KIND OF TARPAULINS ARE USED TO COVER STRAW?

Straw can rapidly deteriorate with moisture and become a favorable environment for the proliferation of harmful bacteria. To prevent this, there is a need for water-resistant tarps to cover straw bales. Additionally, these tarps should be robust enough to withstand varying weather conditions.

Polyethylene fabric is commonly preferred for straw covers. This plastic tarp is known for both its durability and resilience against various weather conditions.

When selecting straw tarps, it is recommended that the plastic coating be at least 6 mil thick. While vinyl and polyethylene tarps may be more expensive, they offer the advantages of reusability and stability. Polyethylene tarps, in particular, have the benefit of reducing condensation under the straw, allowing moisture to escape.

HOW AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS SHOULD WE PROTECT STRAW BALES?

To protect your bales, you can use high-quality tarps produced by Kaya Plastik & Branda. If your hay bales are in a windy area, it may be important to secure the edges of the tarps downward. However, if the wind impact is low, leaving the edges of the bale stack open can help eliminate moisture accumulation under the tarps through air circulation. If you need to store the bales before use, designate a dry area on your property and stack all the bales on a double-layer pallet in an organized space. Double-layer stacking will help protect the bottom of the bales from exposure to grass or moisture in the soil. Arrange the bales in a pyramid shape and carefully cover them with sturdy, high-quality Kaya Plastik tarps.

Tarps provide a suitable and economical solution for covering hay. However, it is important to use tarps properly. Hay tarps are a type of tarpaulin that can withstand a wide temperature range from -25 degrees Celsius to plus 70 degrees Celsius and are resistant to rain. These tarps are produced by Kaya Plastik & Branda to be used throughout all four seasons.
